CITIZENSHIP

INTRODUCTION:-
>It is defined in part-2 of our constitution from Article 5 to Article11
>Indian citizenship is a type of single citizenship. Adopted from Britain.
>America has Dual citizenship.                                                                           
Indian citizenship can be attained by following ways:-
1.  By Birth (section 3)
2.  By decedent (section 4)
3.  By registration (section 5 (1))
4.  By naturalization (section 5 (4))
5.  By aquistition of land (section 6)                                                                                   
Loss of citizenship (According to citizenship Act 1955):-
1.Renunciation
2.Termination
3.Deprivation
Special rights to Indian citizens:
1.Fundamental rights under Article – 15, 16, 19
2.Only Indian citizens are appointed at following position.
a.President
b.Vice- president
c.Judge of supreme court
d.Judge of  high court
e.Atorny general of  India
f.Governer of state
g.Advocate General
3.Only Indian citizen can be elected as member of Lok sabha , Rajya sabha, Vidhan sabha and in any election.  
O.C.I ( Overseas citizenship Of India):-
1. In Dec 2003, LM Singhwi Comittee advised Indian govt. to give some rights to Indian Citizens that are living in other countries.
2. According to it they are given some PIOs card after which they have right to enter in India Without passport.
3. Overseas citizens are not given with some fundamental rights like other citizens of India.
